PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN PJBL BERBASIS STEAM TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 1 SAKTI
Abstrak
ABSTRACT
Physics learning at the high school level often faces significant challenges in building deep conceptual understanding among students. Especially in the material of elasticity and Hooke's Law, various studies show that students have difficulty understanding the linear relationship between the force applied to a spring and its extension. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning approach in enhancing the understanding of Hooke's Law concept. This study uses a non-equivalent control group design as part of the quasi-experimental methodology. The participants in this study are all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Tiga. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling method in this study. Meanwhile, the samples in this study consisted of two classes, namely class XI-1 as the experimental class and class XI-2 as the control class. While the control class practices conventional learning, the experimental class uses the Problem Based Learning approach. The test of physics concept comprehension ability was used to collect data by applying the Problem Based Learning approach. To obtain data, this research used a research instrument in the form of a test consisting of twenty-five multiple-choice questions on physics concept comprehension ability. The Non-parametric Independent T-test is used to analyze data with two means. From the hypothesis test of the N-Gain score, a two-tailed significance value of < 0.05, specifically 0.00, was obtained with 58 degrees of freedom, thus it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, the hypothesis in this study can be accepted that the Problem Based Learning approach in improving the ability to understand physics concepts is better than conventional learning
Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Purposive sampling, understanding of physics concepts.
