PERAN DINAS PENDIDIKAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI GURU DI KABUPATEN PIDIE

Abstrak


The aim of this research is to determine the role of the Education Department in increasing teacher competency in Pidie Regency and determine the increase in teacher competency in Pidie Regency. This research method is descriptive qualitative which aims to provide a clear picture of the role of the Education Department in improving teacher competency in Pidie Regency. The results of this research show that the role of the Education Service in improving Teacher Competency in Pidie Regency is maximal and in accordance with the academic qualifications, competencies and certification mandated by Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers which explains that teachers are teachers. must have academic qualifications (minimum D-IV or S1), competency, educator certificate (certification), be physically and mentally healthy, and have the ability to realize national education goals. It is recommended that the Government, in developing teacher competency through education and training, is faced with limited budget allocations for developing teacher competency, so to optimize competency development additional budget is needed, and this can be done through regional income and expenditure budgets created in the fiscal year. The Ministry of Education continues to improve the quality of services to teachers and creates programs to improve teacher quality. Teachers are expected to take part in programs to improve teacher quality and professionalism because the more teachers who take part in the program, the better the teacher performance or teacher quality will be..
