HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KUTE PANANG KECAMATAN KUTE PANANG KABUPATEN ACEH TENGAH

Abstrak

One of the toddler health problems in the world is stunting. Stunting (dwarfism) is a condition that toddlers have less length and height when compared to normal age. It causes deficient nutrition. Deficient knowledge and attitude about toddler health of mothers have an impact on intelligence, susceptibility to disease. In Aceh, stunting in under 5 years old children was in 3rd rank of 34 provinces in Indonesia. The objective of the research was to find out the correlation between knowledge and mother attitude to stunting case at Kute Panang Public Health Working Area of Kute Panang Sub-district in Aceh Tengah district. The type of research was Analytic through Cross-Sectional design. The population in the research was all of the mothers who have toddlers that consisted of 162 mothers. 62 mothers were taken as samples by using the Random Sampling method. The research was conducted on September 23 up to 30 in 2020 at Kute Panang Public Health Working Area. To obtain the data, the researcher used a questionnaire sheet. The result of the research showed that 28 (45,2%) respondents of sufficient knowledge. It found 40 (66,1%) respondents of negative attitude and 41 (66,1%) respondents of stunting case. In brief, there was a significant correlation between knowledge to stunting that obtained p Value 0,000 and attitude obtained p Value 0,001. The research showed that there was a correlation between knowledge and mother attitude to stunting cases at Kute Panang Public Health Working Area of Kute Panang Sub-district in Aceh Tengah district. Therefore, respondents should increase their knowledge and also the attitude of the stunting case of toddlers in order to provide a better quality of toddler life.
